Who we are
Purpose Statement:
The Ideas Exchange 2008 is a festival from May 8, 2008 to May 11, 2008 whose purpose is to entice the citizens of South Florida to help develop working solutions to the issues facing the region. Creatives, engineers, architects, business leaders, civic leaders, environmentalists, union leaders, educators, health industry leaders, lawyers, and average citizens will be asked to attend and participate in events where ideas will be discussed and working solutions discovered and implemented. These events will focus on the issues facing the region such as health, transportation, housing, education, business development, and diversity. Events will be held at public locations South Florida.
Our Vision:
By May 12, 2008, over 20,000 citizens of the region will have attended some part of this world-class event. They will have discussed issues with highly diverse, leading thinkers and actors regionally, statewide, and nationally. They will have attended events with others whose diverse specialties will promote innovative, imaginative, and cutting edge solutions to regional problems.
The public media will have not only reported on these events but become part of them; sponsoring, reporting on, broadcasting and organizing some of the diverse discussions planned.
Leaders in the arts, sciences, design, business, law, government, film, technology, education, healthcare, planning, and other disciplines will have met with and participated with average citizens to discover new and innovative methods of moving our solutions forward. This diverse involvement will have created ownership for these solutions and methods, insuring their success in the future.
Our sponsors will have created enormous goodwill within the South Florida region as they have been seen as involved in the planning, and execution of solutions for the area’s issues
